JLIC is seeking an Associate Director to oversee its North American Campuses.

Founded in 2000, JLIC’s mission is to create a movement of vibrant Jewish life among emerging adults aged 18 to 30 through transformative leadership development, innovative educational programming, and meaningful engagement opportunities. We empower the next generation of leaders who will inspire and strengthen the Jewish community worldwide. As of 2024, JLIC divisions include JLIC on Campus, JLIC Israel, Yavneh, Summer, Young Professionals, and Abraham’s House.

Our Campus division deploys rabbinic couples to college campuses to serve as Torah educators, role models, community builders, advocates for student needs, and a home away from home. JLIC Directors support and empower students and community members as they navigate the college environment and take their first independent steps into Jewish adulthood outside the construct of their home and day school.  

As JLIC Associate Director you will … 

  • Supervise 12-15 Campuses across North America 
    • Support Campus Directors in establishing their presence, maximizing their roles, navigating the campus environment, employing educational strategies, community-building, and bringing their vision to life. 
    • Serve as Directors’ first line of defense, sounding board, and troubleshooter. 
    • Work with Executive team to effectuate staff adherence to protocol and ensure accountability. 
    • Manage partnership with the local Hillel. 
    • Work with the Executive team to further avenues for individualized and organization-wide professional development. 
    • Maintain a supervision structure for each couple, including: 
      • Meeting by phone/zoom on a regular basis with Directors throughout the semester, and be available by email, whatsapp, and phone as needed in between. 
      • Visiting new Directors at their campus within first year of placement.
      • Visiting continuing Directors at their campus as needed.
      • Facilitating 1-2 annual “big picture reviews” with each Director couple, focusing on campus strategy and performance/professional development.    
      • Conducting 360 evaluations of Directors and the efficacy of JLIC on their campus within first 2 years of placement. 
      • Utilizing metrics and reflections from national student surveys and Directors’ semester reports to assess success and areas for improvement. 
  • Support campus placement 
    • Accompany candidates to campuses in coordination with COO to facilitate effective  interview days.
    • Serve as eyes and ears on interview days, provide relevant feedback to COO & ED to inform placement decisions. 
  • Serve as JLIC senior representative 
    • Establish a presence within the JLIC office and the broader OU headquarters. Oversee JLIC HQ team. 
    • Represent JLIC at various community-facing opportunities such as HS college nights, panels, and speaker requests etc. 
    • Support JLIC National development efforts, meet individual development goal. 

The AD will report directly to JLIC’s Executive Director and coordinate closely with the Executive team, including but not limited to the COO,  Development, PR, and Data teams. 

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • Broad, advanced supervisory and/or coaching experience. 
  • Understanding of the intricacies of the Day-School, Orthodox Jewish demographic across North America, as well as the wider spectrum of the Jewish community. 
  • Familiarity with the University experience, varied campus environments, and relevant Jewish campus institutions.  
  • Collaborative mindset, ability to work well with a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/social intelligence.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Systematic and strategic thinking and ability.
  • Experience working with and coordinating between diverse stakeholders.
  • Masters degree in Education or Management preferred.
  • Jewish engagement and educational development experience preferred. 

Salary Range – $120,000 – $145,000 + benefits, commensurate with relevant experience
