Why the Learn-a-Thon?
JLI helps.

When you’re on campus eating kosher food and listening to Torah classes, JLI is there for you. When you need a social event that caters to your Orthodox needs, JLI is there. When you’re faced with the intimidating task of synthesizing your university studies with observance to Torah and Mitzvot, JLI helps you succeed. With the JLI couple, you have Torah-dedicated role models to look up to, friends to confide in, and guidance counselors to help you forge a path through your winding college career.

Now, JLI is asking for your help.

The JLI Learn-a-Thon is a great way to raise awareness for and support the JLI program, and every dollar counts. Seek sponsors to pledge a certain amount of money per hour learned, and for one week, spend some time learning Torah for both yourself and for JLI. No pledge is too small, and no amount of time is too short – any money raised from your learning will directly help your campus, so even a single hour of learning can have a great impact.
We hope and urge everyone to participate in this learn-a-thon. The commitment is minimal and the payoff is tremendous.

So, the next time you eat kosher food on campus, consider this: participation in the Learn-a-Thon and its success will ensure that in five years from now students much like yourself will be able to benefit from all that JLI has to offer. Much like you have.

How does it work?
The JLI learn-a-thon is very simple in its execution. You seek the sponsors who pledge a certain amount per hour learned during the week of the Learn-a-Thon. You can then use the provided Excel spreadsheet to keep tabs of your donors. Enter the pledge amount and number of hours learned, and Excel will automatically update the document with the correct total funds collected, funds pledged, and the difference between the funds collected and funds pledged.

You can also keep track of your pledges through the JLI website. To do this, go to the JLI website and register by filling out a form and creating a personal page. You will then be able to track of pledges through your personal page set up through JLI. You can then send the link to your personal webpage to family and friends, so that they can fill in a pledge form. After a pledge is made, you will be notified via email and can then enter the pledge into your personal account/spreadsheet.

The future of JLI is important for thousands of Orthodox students around the country. Your support means a lot to us, but it means even more to the thousands of other students just like you.
Thank you in advance for your support.
