JLIC Toronto has been having an event-filled school year so far. Since the beginning of the semester, JLIC Toronto:

• Co-hosted a Friday night dinner with Hillel at BAYT for 75 young adults
• Co-hosted a meal for 50 students during Shabbos Chol Hamoed Sukkos. This was a project spearheaded by Heart 2 Heart (OU) and Project Tisch
• Organized in conjunction with Hillel to host the MK Dr. Uzi Landau, minister in the current (and B”H future) Israeli government. He inspired the students with his message and stunned the crowd with his knowledge of Tanach! Listen to him here.
• Re-launched “Uconnect” – a program matching dozens of students with mentors to help them navigate through the complex world of Jewish university life
• Hosted a Friday night dinner at the Greenbergs’ for first year on-campus ladies
• Continued our “YU Lunch ‘n Learn Business Ethics Series” at the York Hillel Turk family Beit Midrash in memory of Natan ben Yoseph Meir hakohen
• Launched our new student initiative, JHN, the Jewish Health Network, which held two events at the Hillel @York with 70 students in attendance
• Launched our (modified) Amud Yomi series where we just started the third perek of Brachot’. Listen to us here.
• Held five Thursday Night Torah (TNTs) across the city (but mainly at the Berglas’)
• Supported Jewish campus and/or local Jewish communities in Guelph, MacMaster and Waterloo by sending almost 100 students for various Chagim and Shabbatot!
• Launched the Kosher Kitchen series in conjunction with Pirchei Shoshanim, at BAYT, York and UofT with 35 participants. The shiurim are dedicated in honour of a refuah sheleimah for Eden ben Rotem. View our first class here.
• Had a Tashlich and Pizza program at the York University Pond that even made it into the local newspaper
• Consumed almost 1500 wafer cubes after our daily mincha Dvar Torah!
