Matzah-Shechita-Seder, Oh My @ U of I!

No question about it, Pesach at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was a Pesach to remember:

Preparation for Rabbi Shlomo Schachter and Ahava Schachter-Zarembski, OU-JLIC Torah Educators at the University of Illinois, started with picking out and purchasing a lamb and tons of flour. Rabbi Shlomo, a certified Shochet and Menakker, taught the students all about the laws of Jewish slaughter. He then demonstrated Shechita and slaughtered the lamb to be prepared for the Schachter’s mega Seder.

Pesach at University of Illinois began with a Homestyle Seder of 42 attendees.

But the Schachter’s Seder was the main attraction. Forty two people joined the Schachter’s for their home-style Seder. Guest included, students, their families (who came to campus just to for the Schachter’s seder), and the Mayor of Urbana and his family. A great time was had and the lamb was enjoyed by all.

To cap off the Chag, 20+ students joined the Schachters for a meal on the seventh day of Pesach.
