Superb Secular Education in a Vibrant Jewish Environment

As a Jew who strives for excellence in all areas of life my decision to attend Lander College for Men was a no-brainer. I was searching for an institution where I would thrive Jewishly, while not being forced to compromise on my academic pursuits. My passion to achieve and my fear of settling for mediocrity, both in my religious endeavors as well as in my scholastic aspirations, brought me to conclude that Touro’s  Lander College for Men was the place for me. After more than two and a half years, I can confidently say that I made the correct choice.

At LCM, I receive a rigorous Torah education by being engrossed in the depths of the Talmud every day which allows me to forge a special relationship with a Rebbe that I can always turn to for advice and guidance. Being in a Jewishly vibrant academic atmosphere, surrounded by warm, caring rebbeim and growth-oriented friends, has surely had a tremendous impact on my own personal development. At the same time, LCM has guided me to a career path that I enjoy and excel in. The classes are demanding and require a commitment to reach for success. I was a member of the Student Government and the Engineering Club, both of which enriched my experience and broadened my mind. My time here has not only validated my own decision, but has actually strengthened my conviction that LCM is the perfect option for someone who wants a superb secular education in a vibrant Jewish environment.

Offering academic, professional, social and spiritual opportunities

When I chose to attend Touro College, I hoped that I was making the right choice, but I never dreamed of the tremendous opportunities—academic, professional, social and spiritual—Touro had to offer. Going from a small girl’s high school in Dallas to a Political Science major with an eye on law school was an unusual step. I attended Touro because I trusted that Touro would not only teach me how to succeed in my future career, but also how to succeed in my career as a Jewish woman. The opportunities, connections and individualized attention I received at Touro’s Lander College for Women during my undergraduate years helped in my preparation to leave Touro, and continues to help me to this day.

During my time at Touro I spent my first summer interning in Washington, D.C. for a senior member of Congress. When I expressed an interest in Jewish advocacy to my mentors at Touro, they helped secure me a position working for the Orthodox Union’s Advocacy Center. And, when it came time to think about my next steps after Touro, the individualized guidance of my professors was instrumental in my acceptance to Harvard Law School and Columbia Law School, the latter of which I currently attend. The skills and abilities I gained at Touro have consistently put me at the top of my class at Columbia, and enabled me to win numerous awards for academic performance at the end of my first year. The mentoring and guidance I received at Touro – then and now – prepared me for success in all aspects of my life.
