Dr. Rebekah Tokatlilar

Managing Director, JLIC Israel

Dr. Rebekah Tokatlilar currently serves as Managing Director of JLIC Israel, where she oversees a nationwide team of rabbis and educators building Jewish communities for students and young professionals across Israeli campuses and cities. In this role, she leads strategy, partnerships, development, and innovation to expand JLIC Israel’s reach to international students and young olim. She is a Jewish educator, researcher, and organizational leader working at the intersection of Jewish learning, leadership development, and field-building. Prior to joining JLIC Israel, Rebekah was the Chief Program Officer at Atra: the Center for Rabbinic Innovation, where she focused on creating new training programs for rabbis and translating complex research into actionable insights for institutions, funders, and communal leaders, including leading a landmark study of the U.S. rabbinic pipeline. Before making aliyah, Rebekah served as the Managing Director of the NYU Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life. In addition to her executive management responsibilities, she oversaw activities associated with Rabbi Sacks’ visiting scholar appointment at NYU, including serving as his teaching assistant. She holds a PhD in Education & Jewish Studies from NYU, was awarded the Hillel International Richard M. Joel Exemplar of Excellence Award, and was the 2022 graduate student speaker for the NYU Steinhardt School commencement ceremony. A native of Austin, Texas and New Yorker by marriage, she currently lives in Tel Aviv with her husband and three children.
