OU-JLIC/Justifi Thailand Trip

In this special Justifi trip to Thailand, we’ll explore everywhere from the pulsing city of Bangkok up to the ancient cultural center of Chiang Mai, to the rural rice paddies of Chiang Rai, to learn about and address one of the most pressing issues in the world today: Human trafficking.

On our program together, join forces with up to 20 Jewish students and young professionals as we partner with truly inspiring local organizations dedicated to making human trafficking in Thailand a problem of the past and ensuring that the children we support have a bright and prosperous future.

This trip to Thailand combines serious short term service projects, adventures from elephant riding to high-speed boat rides through pristine countryside, and inspired Jewish education focused on principles of personal growth and building a better world (Tikkun Olam).

Bangkok- Thailand’s Pulsing Capital

Explore the infamous capital city of the “The Land of Smiles.” Get to the heart of the human trafficking epidemic that plagues the region, learn about the issues up-close and personally from world-class experts on the ground.  Then decompress with thousands of other backpackers in Southeast Asia’s largest tourist hub – the legendary Khao San Road!

Chiage Mai-Cultural Charm In The North

Ancient temples, night bazaars, elephant sanctuaries, and charmingly-chic nightlife define Chiang Mai and make this small city a favorite destination for tourists from around the world. Here we will meet with leaders of local non-profit organizations working on prevention – keeping at-risk children safe in school and far away from human trafficking. And, of course, soak in the culture and help bathe some local elephants.

Chiang Rai-Rural Adventures and Rice Paddies

Nestled way up in the Golden Triangle region of Thailand, Chiang Rai and the surrounding villages is where we’ll experience the charming, bucolic life that represents “The Real Thailand.” From swimming in waterfalls to boat rides through the rice paddies, this is our chance to get OUT there and have an adventure. Here, we will be working with local schools and after school centers to provide education and sustainable development to children in need of our support, and engage in cultural exchange with local communities.

Cost: $1,699 + Flights (fundraising options and payment plans available!)
