OU-JLIC and Penn Hillel are looking to hire a part-time female educator. This role was established three years ago to provide further religious and communal guidance to our growing community, the Orthodox Community at Penn. The female educator will also help promote and coordinate female Torah learning and leadership. The Orthodox Community at Penn is one of the largest and most vibrant communities of its kind. It serves about 250 students and provides religious, educational and social programming on a weekly basis. This part-time female educator will serve alongside the current OU-JLIC couple to conduct weekly shiurim, organize chavrutot with students and run educational, Shabbat and holiday programming and meals.
Potential responsibilities would be to: Give weekly shiurim that are open to the entire community; Conduct a weekly chabura as part of the Female Learning Initiative; Serve as a female religious role model and mentor; Address the community from the pulpit a few times per semester; Coordinate weekly chavrutot with students; A general presence around the building and dining hall is expected; Host Shabbat and Holiday meals for undergraduate and graduate students; Fulfill all other responsibilities as a staff member of Penn Hillel (i.e., staff meetings, staff training, interaction tracking, etc.); Coordinate social and religious programming as part of JLIC team.
